To put it very clearly, this app caused my iTunes to spontaneous stop working after I updated from Snow Leopard to Lion. After hours of talking to Apple Support my iTunes library had to be completely rebuilt and I had lost a lot of my metadata (number of times a song is played, last played, etc). We narrowed down the possible sources that could have caused my iTunes to compeletely stop working and my corrupted data and the only thing I recently changed prior to updating to Lion was the addition of this app. I have since uninstalled the app. I have my iTunes metadata (playlists, etc) for over 6 years and because of this app I lost my data. I could not be more disappointed in this app.

The picture shows it all. Basic control of iTunes in the menu bar. Works perfectly on Mavericks. Maybe the icons in the menu bar could be a bit more subdued, but that is just my opinion.

I wanted to pause/play from the menu bar and this does that plus a few extras. Just what I was looking for.

Very close to exactly what I wanted. Simple: puts playback controls right in the menu bar, always accessible with no window switching! Love it. One refinement I’d like to see is if the “Previous” command would first go to the beginning of the current track on first click. (It goes to beginning of previous track.) But that’s more a preference thing. Otherwise, pretty much exactly what I wanted! Nice job and thanks!

I am grateful for a app like this. I have a request for the developer, iTunes Radio compatablilty. I would like to tell the menu bar "Play more like this", the controls you get inside of iTunes. Thanks again for this free application.

Very simple and nice app that does exactly what you expect it to do. This is really helpful for my dual monitor setup when the primary display on my MacBook is asleep. Excellent app.

As the title states, this app does the job. There is no way to change settings such as: button styles, scrolling track info, a way to remove the app logo (don’t want extra unneeded clutter on my menu bar). I was using You Control iTunes, was a perfect simple app. I bought a new MBP and it looks like the app is no longer supported and isn’t taking new registrations. I would reccommend adding a prefrences menu with various options.

This app allows me to control my iTunes from my Macs menu bar perfectly. It did a good job.

I had no trouble installing this app or using it. Its seamless, and even looks pretty nice. But its also pretty basic. It lacks volume controls, genius, shuffle, etc., thing that are normally pretty basic functions. However, its freeware, and I understand that.

This is a great app for controlling a few basic features of iTunes. When enabled, it puts Previous Track, Play/Pause, Next Track, and album art (optionally) in the task bar. Nice and simple. I think this functionality could be minimally extended by actually fast forwarding or rewinding when we press on the fast forward/next or rewind/previous icons. But, overall great work and kudos to the developer(s).

This is awesome app and makes my life more pleasurable and easy as I like music off the machine running in the background, I only wish I could plug in the half star rating.

I wish we could make the actual app icon disappear. But, otherwise, great work! Love it!
